The Port Lincoln Football League Umpires Association is working to get more umpires on board for 2019 while providing more opportunities for club umpires to take their skills to the next level.
New association president Michael Blewit said the umpires were “getting by” at the start of the season but there was still some doubling up happening.
The association aims to field a full list of umpires for
“What we’re doing is we’re running a panel umpire with B grade now to help develop club umpires to help them see it in a different light,
The association is hoping to encourage club umpires to come onto the panel to raise a more consistent level of umpiring across the three grades.
Anyone interested in umpiring is encouraged to come to training sessions at Centenary Oval on Wednesdays from 5.30pm.
